STYLVESTER SKULLONE
⬆️
I love birch trees, the way the white starts to peel and patterns of black on white emerge. The tall thin cylindrical shape also attracts my eye. This is why I wanted this piece to be tall and thin. I had to hunt around for the skull with antlers. You don’t find too many of these in the big city. This one had a greenish slime on it from laying in the forest, not my favorite, so I spent a lot of time bleaching the bones, brushing the teeth and such. Properly cleaned up I felt this guy would feel good about coming to rest amongst the trees. I tried to be minimalist with the skull since I am not very fond of painting on them. I think it would be embarrassing to the deceased to be tarted up like that, but I loved the shape of the skull and wanted to accentuate it with neon.
